Jamie will discuss what behaviors are normal for parrots at their various life stages, corresponding behaviors we may anticipate from our companion birds, and ways to ease them (and us!) through the difficult ones. --kbh

Houston Zoo Trip, Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Hello everyone,
Our club will be taking a trip to the Houston Zoo, on Saturday, May 30th, 2009.
For those of us who want to travel together we will be meeting at the Church of the Living God in Beaumont by 6:45 to 7:00 am to leave by 7:15 am. We need to be at the Front Entrance of the Zoo in Houston by the large Aviary to meet Matt Schmidt at 9:00 am.Matt will be giving us a behind the scenes tour of the avian section of the zoo.
Be sure and thank Matt and the rest of the staff that we will meet along the way for their help. Bring a camera because you never know what you will get to see!
There is an admission fee for the Zoo, I think that it is around $10.00 for an adult. Last time we went we ate at the attractions at at the Zoo, some carried ice chests in their cars and went to the parking lot to eat.
I understand that the zoo has been doing quite a bit of upgrading! After we see the avian part of the zoo then we usually split up into groups to see the rest of the zoo.
I hope we have a good turn out for this trip.
See you Saturday!

Hugs,
Dorothy Crocker
